Chamber Choir
West Wycombe Chamber Choir was established in 2006 by Barry and Michèle Hodkinson. They regularly gives three concerts a year in the lovely church at the top of hill, St Lawrence, West Wycombe. They have also made three concert tours to Europe singing in Belgium, France and Italy and in 2026, will be making a special 20th anniversary tour to Spain. The first practice started in the church rooms in the Village, with 25 people turning up, some of whom are still singing with the choir today. There are now 60+ members, and Barry Hodkinson continues to be the original Musical Director.
They sing a wide range of music from light popular music to classical choral music. They welcome anyone who loves to sing and brings along enthusiasm and commitment.
Due to the growth of numbers in the choir, they now meet in West Wycombe School hall, every Wednesday evening during term time, from 7.30-9.30 p.m.
They are a friendly and sociable choir and regularly hold social events for members, their friends and families. These have included, quizzes, walk & cream tea, Christmas meal out and theatre trips to London venues.
The profits from their concerts go towards supporting local worthy organisations, so that our community also benefits. They are proud to say that so far they have donated over £35,000.
